High School of Glasgow

The Home & School Association Committee Members: 2012 – 2013

We are a very active Committee comprised of parent and teacher volunteers who meet together several times a year with the HSOG Senior Management Team. The two aims of the Association as defined in the constitution are in the interests of the pupils:

• to foster cooperation between parents and teachers and
• to promote the welfare of the School,

In order to achieve these aims we run various events throughout the year which are great fun for all the family and are always well attended. The purpose of these events is for the school community to have the opportunity to have fun together. Whilst it is not the aim of the HASA to fund -raise for the school, any profits that we do make on our events are donated to the school for the benefit of the children. We have purchased digital cameras for all classrooms and new staging at the Junior School. The beautiful seating area on the grass hill at the Senior School was also purchased with HASA funds.

We also organize the second hand Uniform Sales. These run four times a year and are handy for picking up an extra rugby/hockey shirt or cricket jumper! If you have any items of used/new sports kit, blazers, kilts, official outfitters trousers/shorts which you no longer need, please hand them into the office clearly marked “Uniform Sale”. Alternatively, email us and we will arrange collection from you. Watch this space for the date of the next sale.

Dates for your diary

These events require help from the whole school community and we are always on the look out for new ideas and for new volunteers to help whether as a one off half hour on a stall or as a committee member.
