Art and Design courses offer pupils experiences in a range of activities including drawing and painting, print, ceramics, photography, animation, textiles, product design, 3-dimensional construction and sculpture. Pupils are given opportunities to learn about artists and designers from the past and those living and working today.
Certificate courses are available at Standard Grade, Intermediate 2, Higher, Module and Advanced Higher. Pupils are also prepared for entry to art-related courses at College and University.
Over the last five years, a number of pupils have gone on to study Art and Architecture at all the main Universities in Scotland and a number in England, including Oxford and Cambridge.
More recently, our S2 pupils have completed a clay panel project to be presented to the Bield Housing Association in Anniesland Road, and our S3 pupils displayed their hat designs at the West End of Glasgow Festival.
This session sees the establishment of an S6 studio, our response to the growing demand for Art and Design at the High School of Glasgow.
